PopPunk with Stephanie
When I first started becoming interested in photography (which was many years ago in high school) I was obsessed with the punk/emo music scene. I was the band photographer for my closest friends, I became the music correspondent for my high school newspaper (that no one ever read by the way) and when I was trying to develop my own style I still went back to that scene. I loved posing and staging my friends in all these shabby punk clothes, making emo myspace angle faces, and pulling from all of my favorite songs and artists to create a story. Doing this shoot brought me back to those days. I could bask in the punk aesthetic and listen to Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge all over again and feel the rush of the sticky sweaty Warped Tour crowds again (RIP Warped Tour).
This was true, genuine fun.
This is where I began.
